Jeep WranglerThe Jeep Wrangler is one of the most respected off road vehicles on the market and has been since its first inception. Not much has changed to its basic design over the years and for good reason, the Jeep Wrangler has a time tested and proven track record of superior off road performance.

The engine options for the 2010 Jeep Wrangler have not seen much change from the 2009 model year. The standard 3.8 60 degree V6 boasts 202 horsepower and 237 foot-pounds of torque. The bottom end of the beefy V6 is strengthened even further with cross bolted main bearing caps for added reliability and a longer engine life.

The installed 2-speed electric cooling fan ensures that the motor will stay cool, even in the harshest environments. One of the more advanced technologies added to the 2010 Jeep Wrangler is the electronically controlled throttle. This little addition provides a smoother throttle response and helps thwart jerky pedal bobble, commonly associated with traveling over rough terrain in four-wheel drive mode.

With the cost of fuel being a concern with many consumers looking to purchase an off-road capable vehicle, the all new 2010 Jeep Wrangler can easily utilize 87 octane fuel without a problem. While other newer competing off-road vehicles may require premium unleaded gasoline, Jeep has engineered this vehicle to handle cheaper fuels.

The prospective buyer can either choose between a six-speed manual transmission and a four speed automatic unit. The automatic transmission offers a smoother transition through the gears, while its manual shift counterpart gives the operator more control in off-road situations. All models, however, come standard with four wheel drive.
