Ferrari 458 New Rival

Most people said that the powerful Ferrari 458 Italia doesn’t have other rivals except the McLaren MP4-12C and the Lamborghini Gallardo.

But that is about to change because Porsche has set its anger against the Ferrari 458 Italian supercar and will rival it with the new 960 model, but future customers of the German vehicle will have to wait until 2015 to get their hands on one. Porsche is developing a new mid-engined supercar slap bang in Ferrari 458 Italia territory.

Rumors are that the new Porsche 960 will be powered by a 3.8 liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine which is expected to deliver around 600 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque and even if we don’t know anything else about the future German supercar, we can say at least this for sure: its price will surely rival with the Ferrari 458 Italia because the new Porsche 960 is expected to cost around or above 250.000 USD. This price will lower than recent price of Ferrari 458

The same rumors that announce the supercar’s powerplant and price are also saying that the 960 will be based on Volkswagen Group’s new Mimo platform, the same one used by the new 911, which is short for modular sports car matrix with a mid-engined version.

The Porsche 960 is expected to hit the production line in late 2015 and the supercar might come in both coupe and roadster variants.
